Hockey Traditions are Getting Stronger

Last weekend, the sixth ice hockey tournament for the prizes of Evgeny Ketov among children born in 2016 was held at the Gubakha Ice Arena with the support of Metafrax Chemicals.

At the grand opening of the Cup, young hockey players, their coaches, and fans were greeted by the world champion Evgeny Ketov, a graduate of Gubakha hockey school, Albert Khudaibirdin, Managing Director for Production at Metafrax Chemicals, and Tatyana Sharipova, Head of the Department of Affairs and Internal Policy of Gubakha municipal district.

Albert Khudaibirdin:

“The Evgeny Ketov Cup has become a tradition for Gubakha. It’s a true celebration of sports. Our ice arena allows you to hold high-level competitions in both hockey and figure skating. Children enjoy playing these sports, and seeing their glowing eyes, we support these wonderful sports initiatives every year. I wish all the teams a fair contest, good luck and good results."

This year, six teams from Gubakha, Berezniki and Perm took to the tournament ice. In three days, the teams played 5 matches each. While the battles were unfolding on the ice, core fans, parents, were vigorously rooting for their children in the stands. Despite their young age, the novice hockey players showed real struggle, adamant character and the will to win.

Gubakha figure skaters delighted the players and fans with beautiful, touching and energetic performances between matches, making this sports festival even more vivid and memorable.

Following the results of the eventful game days, the Academia-1 team from Perm won the main Cup of Evgeny Ketov, the second place went to the players of the Leopard team from Berezniki, the third place went to the Legenda team from Perm.

Among the players of the Gubakha team, Vladimir Ketov received the award in the "Most Valuable Player" nomination, David Dmitrenko was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament, and Kirill Khovanov was awarded the audience award.

We wish the folks new bright victories!
